Subscription packages are now on sale for the 2005 season at the Music Hall at Fair Park. Michael A. Jenkins, president and managing director of Dallas Summer Musicals, said in a statement, "Our goal is to bring the best possible Broadway musicals to Dallas, and this year we have definitely accomplished this objective, with blockbuster shows that are still playing to sold-out audiences on Broadway." The 2005 season starts March 15-27 with the 2003 winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Hairspray.
Emmy Award-winning and Tony Award-nominated Cathy Rigby returns with Peter Pan May 24-June 5.
Mel Brooks' smash musical, The Producers, Disney's musical songbook, On the Record, directed by Robert Longbottom and featuring 64 memorable hits, runs June 21-July 3.
The Twyla Tharp-Billy Joel collaboration, Movin' Out, telling the all-dance tale of a group of friends in the 1960s and '70s, visits July 13-24.
Stephen Schwartz's smash "Oz"-themed musical, Wicked, plays Oct. 5-23.
Single tickets for Hairspray will go on sale in February 2005, and single tickets for the other five Dallas Summer Musicals shows will go on sale mid-April.
