The reading at the Players Club in Manhattan boasts the talents of Amy Irving, Richard Thomas, Bobby Steggert, Nick Wyman, Cassie Beck and Cary Donaldson. Jason Zinoman of the New York Times is the evening's guest host, and Patrick Pacheco of NY1's "On Stage" narrates. Show time is 7 PM.

David Staller, the acclaimed singer-actor who has produced and directed all of the Project Shaw offerings, handles both duties for this reading.

Candida, according to Project Shaw notes, "makes its cast of characters jump through many hoops as they fight to discover who they want to be. Taking place in one action-packed day, Candida (Amy Irving) finds herself in the middle of a battle. Swirling around Candida are her husband Reverend Morell (Richard Thomas); the noble young poet Eugene Marchbanks (Bobby Steggert); her ambitious, capitalist father Mr. Burgess (Nick Wyman); the repressed secretary Prossy (Cassie Beck); and Morell's young assistant Lexy (Cary Donaldson)."

The current season will continue Oct. 25 with Capt. Brassbound's Conversion, Nov. 22 with How He Lied to Her Husband and Dec. 20 with Heartbreak House.

Past participants include Blair Brown, Mark Kudisch, Kerry Butler, Tyne Daly, Jonathan Hadary, Daniel Jenkins, Rebecca Luker, Michael Cerveris, Karen Ziemba, Michele Pawk, Bruce Vilanch, Jack Gilpin and George S. Irving.

The Players Club is located in Manhattan at 16 Gramercy Park South. Tickets, priced $25, are available by calling (212) 352-3101. For more information visit www.projectshaw.com.
