News Prophecy — with Kathleen Chalfant — to Be Presented at Makor in April Kathleen Chalfant, who is currently appearing Off-Broadway in Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell, will be part of a reading of Prophecy April 23 at Makor.

Karen Malpede's play will be presented at 7 PM. In addition to Chalfant, the cast will also include George Bartenieff, Najla Said and Jake Robards. Playwright Malpede will direct. "History, myth and memory erupt inside a marriage," according to Propechy press notes. "[The play] uses humor and compassion to explore the impact of war on the lives of complex, well-intentioned people."

Kathleen Chalfant received a Tony Award nomination for her work in Tony Kushner's Angels in America: Millennium Approaches. For her performance in Wit, she earned Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Obie, Drama League, Lucille Lortel and Los Angeles Ovation awards. Chalfant also received Obie and Outer Critics Circle awards for her work in Talking Heads. The actress' other stage credits include M. Butterfly, Racing Demon, The Vagina Monologues, Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You, Henry V, Nine Armenians and the City Center Encores! production of Bloomer Girl.
