The play Pterodactyls is to receive it's Dutch premiere May 16, 1998 at De Machinefabriek in Groningen, The Netherlands.

Pterodactyls is a black comedy about an upper middle class family in Philadelphia and was written in 1993 by American playwright Nicky Silver. Silver has written plays such as Fat Men in Skirts, The Food Chain and Raised in Captivity. Pterodactyls has been translated into Dutch by Benno Barnard.

The cast for the Dutch premiere production includes Joep Onderdelinden, Pleuni Touw, Fania Sorel, Ludo Hoogmartens and Luk van Mello. Director will be Tom van Bauwel, with a setdesign by Saskia Louwaard.

De Machinefabriek, a former workshop of the local Energysuppliers, is the home of the Noord Nederlands Toneel, one of three major Dutch professional theatre companies, which is based in Groningen.

Previews start on May 12, 1998 and the play will run for a limited season until June 7, 1998. Performances are from Wednesday until Saturday at 20.30 hours, with a Sunday Matinee at 15.00 hours.
