The Public Theater has announced that the Jan. 19, 2012, performance of Gob Squad's Kitchen will allow 25 audience members to live-Tweet during the performance. The production, which offers a fast and loose live re-creation of Andy Warhol's films by the German/British theatre collective, will run through Feb. 5, 2012.
So You Think You Can Tweet: Gob Squad Edition on Jan. 19 marks the first preview of the Gob Squad's latest show. Individuals are now able to apply to snag one of 25 "Tweet Seats," which are specially reserved for audience members who will live tweet what they see and experience during the performance.
Representatives for the Public said that they are organizing the seating so as not to disturb other audience members during the 8 PM performance.
The Public will announce the selected tweeters on Jan. 9, 2012. They will be chosen based on their knowledge of theatre, film, Warhol, or their love of the Public.
