News Public Will Offer $10 Tickets to See New Plays with Return of Public Studio The Public Theater announced that Public Studio will return for a second year to present two new plays in repertory, Fidelis by Christina Gorman and Ping Pong by Rogelio Martinez.

The plays will run Feb. 20-March 1 in the Public's Shiva Theater and will be presented as pared-down productions with all tickets priced at $10.

“In our second year of Public Studio, we are delighted to welcome two thrilling writers, Christina Gorman and Rogelio Martinez,” said associate artistic director Mandy Hackett in a statement. “Both writers are turning to history to spin challenging tales of power and justice. The writers are daring and bold and we are galvanized to see the writers grapple with our history and larger political landscape in such ambitious and theatrical ways.”

Set in 1966, Gorman's Fidelis is a drama about a 20-year-old who enters the Marine Corps and is sent to Vietnam. Upon his return, the very force he was fighting for becomes his greatest enemy.

In the funny and imaginative Ping Pong, Martinez draws upon real life US-China relations and the groundbreaking table tennis tournament that impacted the world of politics.

Public Studio reflects the theatre's mission in supporting new and emerging artists in continuing to make new work accessible to all audiences. All tickets to Fidelis and Ping Pong will be $10 and can be purchased now by calling (212) 967-7555 or by visiting publictheater.org.
