Hand to God will run Feb. 29-April 22. Tickets for the encore run have increased to $45 for general admission. Discounted student and senior tickets are also available for $25.

Moritz von Stuelpnagel directs the production that features original cast members Stephen Boyer, Geneva Carr, Bobby Moreno, Megan Hill and Scott Sowers. It began its world premiere Off-Broadway at E.S.T. Oct. 27, 2011. Critics warmed to the production, which played an extended run through Dec. 18.

The New York Times previously reported that Tony-winning producers Kevin McCollum and Roy Miller, who brought West Side Story, [title of show] and The Drowsy Chaperone to Broadway in recent seasons, were interested in bringing Hand to God to Broadway or Off-Broadway in the next season.

Miller told Playbill.com on Dec. 27 that he saw the production late in its recent run at E.S.T. and is a huge fan of Askins' and Stuelpnagel's work. He said there were no official commercial plans yet, but that talks and meetings were underway to explore a future life for the property.

Here's how E.S.T. bills the play: "Christian Puppet Ministries are, in fundamentalist Christian congregations, normally a great way to teach children about the Bible. Each child gets a puppet, and each puppet gets its own personality. But in Hand to God, children can be fooled by Satan's tricks. For even within the sanctuary of the Christian Puppet Ministry of Cypress, Texas, the devil lurks; Hand to God tells that story."

Askins' plays include Princess of Waco, Matthew and the Pastor's Wife, Everything is Ruthless and Doll Parts.
