The by-invitation-only performance features the talents of High Fidelity's Will Chase, Tony Award winners Carlin Glynn (The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas) and Cady Huffman (The Producers) as well as James Moye (Urinetown) and Danny Rutigliano (The Lion King). Show time is 2:30 PM. The ensemble comprises Katie Adams, Amanda Baker, Darrel Blackburn, Dwayne Clark, Nicolette Hart, Ryan Link, Zachary Prince, Terita R. Redd and Katrina Yaukey.

Pure Country, according to press notes, "tells the story of Del Hubbard, a country music superstar known as 'Rusty,' who cracks from the pressure of his endless life on the road, escapes his tour, and returns to his Texas stomping grounds, hoping to find what he's missing."

Pure Country — adapted from the 1992 film of the same name — features a book by Rex McGee (based on his screenplay) and Peter Masterson and a score by Steve Dorff (music) and John Bettis (lyrics).

Co-writer Masterson directs the reading with musical direction by Eugene Gwozdz. Chris Presley and Ellen Rusconi are the producers.

A previous reading of Pure Country was held in September 2006 at the Roy Arias Studios in The Times Square Arts Center.
