News Pussy Riot Drama Is One of 4 World Premieres Planned for Contemporary American Theatre Festival The Contemporary American Theatre Festival, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, has announced the line-up for it's 2015 festival, with performances running July 10-Aug. 2 on the campus of Shepherd University in West Virginia. The slate will include five new plays by celebrated playwrights, including four world premieres.

The world premieres are A Love Story by Susan Smith Blackburn Prize winner Johnna Adams and directed by Nicole A. Watson; On Clover Road, a new thriller by Pulitzer Prize nominee Steven Dietz and directed by Ed Herendeen; The Full Catastrophe by Michael Weller, the book writer for Doctor Zhivago on Broadway and directed by Ed Herendeen; and We Are Pussy Riot by Barbara Hammond and directed by Tea Alagić. The latter will tell the story of the Russian female punk rock activists who have gained world-wide recognition for their protests. Sheila Callaghan's Everything You Touch, which recently played Off-Broadway, is also included in the line-up of new plays. The dark comedy looks at a woman's struggle to find her inner beauty paralleled with the life of a 1970's fashion designer.

The festival will showcase over 100 performances, along with a program that includes lectures, talk-back, late night salons and a brand new Apprentice Showcase initiative. Opening night celebrations will take place July 10 and 11.
