Broadway's Putting It Together, wrapping up a four month Broadway run Feb. 20, and James Joyce's The Dead, enjoying an open-ended Broadway run, are expected to have original cast albums, according to a spokesman. Putting It Together, the Stephen Sondheim "review" of songs in a conceptual party setting stars Carol Burnett, and is being videotaped in its final weekend for a new pay-per-view venture called Broadway Theatre Network. Those tapings at the Barrymore Theatre will beget an original, live cast album featuring Burnett, John Barrowman, George Hearn, Ruthie Henshall and Bronson Pinchot. No release date has been announced.

The Dead, also set at a party, has record producers interested, too, and an album is not just hoped for, said a spokesman, "it's expected." Speculation has Blair Brown singing the role of Gretta Conroy on a CD of The Dead, even though she is exiting the show March 12. Producers generally want to preserve the "original" cast for original cast albums.
