A studio recording of the score from the forthcoming musical Ragtime was released in Canada Oct. 9 with the U.S. release on Nov 12.
The show, with music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and book by Terrence McNally, is scheduled to open in Toronto in December, and come to Broadway in December 1997 or January 1998.
The album includes many members of what will be the original cast, including Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Marin Mazzie. Orchestrations are by William David Brohn (Crazy for You, Miss Saigon, Show Boat).
The score includes "On the Wheels of a Dream" and "Buffalo Nickel Photoplay Inc."
