The four-time Tony Award-winning musical, Ragtime is sponsoring a "family month" in October featuring special discounts and an invitation for patrons to have "your family meet our family."

Ragtime will be holding post-performance discussions offering audiences the opportunity to interact with members of the show's creative team, cast and backstage crew .

“We’re absolutely thrilled that our extraordinarily talented and articulate creative team will be speaking with our audiences during these Sunday discussions at Ragtime," said the show's executive producer and SFX Entertainment executive, Gary Gunas.

"Their graciousness provides a perfect extension to an afternoon at a musical already so entertaining and rich in history. Bringing families together at Ragtime at an affordable price, and allowing them to meet the people responsible for making this wonderful production happen, is enormously gratifying for us as producers.”

The speakers scheduled to visit with families during Ragtime's October series include Tony Award-winning book writer Terrence McNally, Tony Award-winning composer Stephen Flaherty, Tony Award-winning lyricist Lynn Ahrens and musical director David Loud. The schedule of post-performance discussions began Sun., Oct. 3, after the 3 PM matinee with host Terrence McNally. The next discussion takes place Sun., Oct. 10, again, after the 3 PM matinee with host David Loud . Stephen Flaherty hosts the discussion on Sun., Oct. 17, after the 3 PM matinee, and Lynn Ahrens hosts the Sun., Oct. 24, discussion after the 3 PM matinee.

Ragtime won four 1998 Tony Awards including “Best Book of a Musical,” “Best Original Score,” and “Best Orchestrations.” The hit musical stars Alton Fitzgerald White, Michael Rupert, Donna Bullock, Darlesia Cearcy, Joseph Dellger, and Judy Kaye.

Ragtime is also offering special “Family Pricing Packages” through October. When patrons mention the code "JFAM," they will receive a free family member ticket with the purchase of every full-priced orchestra or dress circle ticket (excluding Wed. matinees and Fri- Sat. performances). In addition, at the “Ragtime Discussion Series,” patrons will receive a free “Ragtime Family Activity Book,” filled with games and fun facts.

Ragtime runs Tues.-Sat., at 8 PM, with matinees Wed. and Sat. at 2 PM, and on Sun. at 3 PM. Tickets for range from $16-$81 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster at (212) 307 4550 or at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts box office, located at 214 W. 43rd Street.
