News   Ramin Karimloo Will Join West End's Les Miserables as Valjean
 
Ramin Karimloo will play Jean Valjean in the original West End production of Les Miserables, returning to a show in which he has previously played Enjolras, in London, in a special one-off concert performance at Windsor Castle in front of Her Majesty, the Queen, and in the 25th anniversary celebration at the 02.

He will join the current West End company beginning performances Nov. 29 for a run through March 3, to replace Alfie Boe who is currently playing the role. Karimloo is best known for playing the title role in The Phantom of the Opera (in the West End and in the recent 25th anniversary production at the Royal Albert Hall), as well as originating the role of The Phantom in the show's sequel, Love Never Dies. Other leading theatre roles include playing Chris in Miss Saigon. He has recently signed with Sony and is currently recording his first solo album.

He joins a company that currently also features Hadley Fraser as Javert, Caroline Sheen as Fantine, Alexia Khadime as Eponine, Craig Mather as Marius, Cameron Blakely as Thénardier, Katy Secombe as Madame Thénardier, Liam Tamne as Enjolras and Lisa-Anne Wood as Cosette.
