News Randy Graff, Daniel Goldstein, Jennifer Mudge Will Take Part in "ESPA*Drills" Reading Series of New Work Tony Award winner Randy Graff is among the performers featured in the 2012 "ESPA*Drills" reading series, Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts' annual new play development program.

"ESPA*Drills" provides professionally staged readings to four ESPA playwrights. The plays are workshopped at Primary Stages under the guidance of the ESPA staff and presented before an audience of industry peers at Off-Broadway's 59E59 Theaters. Admission to the workshops is free.

Graff (City of Angels, A Class Act) will be joined by Jessica Vera and Dan Vidor in Stephen Brown's Welcome Home, directed by Casey Childs, Aug. 23 at 3 PM. Here's how the work is described: "Triple-shot lattes, lightsaber battles, and an arson at Applebee's are typical events in the life of 21-year-old Tommy. Such distractions are therapeutic when your brother has been missing for over a year."

Also offered Aug. 23 is Karin Shook's The Horse and Carriage, which will be directed by Daniel Goldstein, who helmed the recent Broadway revival of Godspell. Chris Henry Coffey, Kyle Minshew and Jennifer Mudge (The Philanthropist) will be featured in the reading, which begins at noon and centers on a husband who asks a dangerous question at dinner: "Are you happy?"

Previously featured in the series were Heidi Armbruster's Dairyland, about a culinary critic who delivers a newborn calf, directed by Lisa Rothe; and Siobhan Antonioli's Honey, set at a segregated, suburban swimming pool in the 1950s, directed by Patricia McGregor.

Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts is a multidisciplinary school with departments in writing, acting and directing. Now in its sixth year, ESPA has trained actors who have been seen on and Off-Broadway and developed writers whose work has won awards and received workshops and productions. ESPA is open to all artists, in all stages of their careers. 59E59 Theaters is located at 59 East 59th Street. Admission is free and space is limited.
