Folks around Broadway scratching their heads over the Best Musical Tony nomination of the short-lived musical Chronicle of a Death Foretold will be interested to know that a commercial recording exists of part of the score.

Composer Bob Telson included two pieces of music later used in the Chronicle score in a 1993 CD, Calling You on Warner Reprise records.

The Chronicle tracks are part of a section of the album "Music for Twyla Tharp's Sextette." The cuts are "Gonzalo's Dream" and "Regalito."

Based on the Marques novel of the same name, the show attempted to capture the Magic Realism spirit of the novel in dances by Graciela Daniele. The show ran 67 performances in June and July 1995.

Telson told Playbill On-Line he was "appreciative to the Tony voters who did see us for remembering us and nominating us," but said it was "a shame such a wonderful show" didn't get the support while it was still running. The album also includes Telson's music from the films Baghdad Cafe and Salmonberries.
