News Rattazzi to Star in Off-Broadway's 800 Words, Dec. 11-13 Obie Award-winning actor Steven Rattazzi will star in a workshop of 800 Words: The Transmigration of Philip K. Dick, a presentation of the Off-Off Broadway troupe The Hourglass Group. The play will run Dec. 11-13 at the Hinton Battle Theatre Lab, 432 W. 42nd Street in Manhattan.

The work, part of Hourglass' 2003 Next Stage Festival, is described as "a dark comedy about God, art, madness, time, fiction and reality." Playwright Victoria Stewart based her work on the true experiences of sci-fi author Dick, who, in 1974, had religious visions and believed an extraterrestrial god was communicating with him. Erica Gould directs. Also in the cast are Chuck Montgomery, Jeremy Webb and Dana Hardy.

Rattazzi is known for his predilection for quirky material. His recent credits include Anne Washburn's well-received Apparition and Rinne Groff's praised Jimmy Carter Was a Democrat. He won his Obie in 2003 as part of the large ensemble cast of Talking Band's Painted Snake in a Painted Chair.

Suggested donation is $12 or $8 students and seniors. For reservations or more information, call (212) 439-8122 or visit www.hourglassgroup.org.
