News Rattlestick Announces Casting for Adam Rapp's Through the Yellow Hour Danielle Slavick, Alok Tewari, Matt Pilieci and Hani Furstenberg have been cast in the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater world premiere of Adam Rapp's Through the Yellow Hour, which will begin previews Sept. 13 Off-Broadway.

Playwright Rapp will also direct his play that will officially open Sept. 27 for a run through Oct. 28. Through the Yellow Hour is the first production of Rattlestick's 18th season.

Furstenberg will star in the central role of an American woman who goes into hiding when the country is attacked. The cast also features Slavick, Tewari, Pilieci, Brian Mendes, Joanne Tucker and Vladimir Versailles.

"In Through the Yellow Hour," according to the Rattlestick, "the United States has been attacked. Men are being castrated, women enumerated. Ellen has been in hiding for 52 days, subsisting on very little, hoping against hope for her husband to return. As the world around her falls further into senseless chaos, she takes an unlikely action, one that just might signal a new beginning."

The design team includes Andromache Chalfant (scenic design), Jessica Pabst (costume design), Keith Parham (lighting design), Christian Frederickson (sound design) and Andrew Diaz (properties).

Rapp's plays include Hallway Trilogy, Ghosts in the Cottonwoods, The Metal Children, Nocturne, Faster, Animals & Plants, Finer Noble Gases, Stone Cold Dead Serious, Blackbird, Gompers, Essential Self-Defense and Red Light Winter.
