Musical theatre stars including Raúl Esparza, Ann Harada, Judy Kuhn, Jeremy Jordan, Patina Miller, George Takei, Jason Sudeikis, Danielle Brooks, and Gabriel Ebert will perform numbers from musicals written by Stephen Schwartz at the annual Classic Stage Company benefit gala May 15.

Titled Musical Masterworks: The Music of Stephen Schwartz, the event will consists of numbers written by the composer-lyricist of stage musicals including Wicked, Godspell, Pippin, The Baker’s Wife, Working, and films including The Prince of Egypt. Schwartz was won three Academy Awards, four Grammy Awards, and the Isabelle Stevenson Tony honor.

The gala will be held in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center (1941 Broadway) in Manhattan. Tony Award winner and CSC associate director John Doyle (Company, Sweeney Todd) will stage the retrospective.

The event will begin with cocktails 6 PM followed by the performance at 7 PM and dinner at 8:30 PM.

Judy Kuhn has been a special guest performer on two of Playbill’s Broadway on the High Seas cruises.
