Second Stage Theater celebrated the official Off-Broadway opening of Greg Pierce’s Cardinal, a new drama about big ideas and a changing America. The world premiere is directed by Kate Whoriskey and stars Veep Emmy nominee Anna Chlumsky, Happy Endings star Adam Pally, and Girls Emmy nominee Becky Ann Baker.
Chlumsky plays a woman who returns to her Rust Belt town to give it the ultimate makeover. In the midst of all the change, issues of race, tradition, and ambition collide. Completing the cast are Alex Hurt (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Stephen Park (Aubergine), and Eugene Young (Alice in Slasherland).
