The Verdict Read Reviews for New Musical The Prom on Broadway Beth Leavel, Christopher Sieber and Brooks Ashmanskas star as a group of well-intentioned Broadway hams who take a stand for justice—and a bit of extra stage-time—in the new musical.

The new musical comedy The Prom opens on Broadway November 15 at the Longacre Theatre, following previews that began October 23. Casey Nicholaw directs and choreographs the show, which features a book by his Aladdin collaborator, Chad Beguelin, and fellow Tony winner Bob Martin, music by Matthew Sklar, and lyrics by Beguelin.

The musical, directed and choreographed by Nicholaw, tells the story of an Indiana high schooler barred from bringing her girlfriend to the prom—and the group of eccentric Broadway folk who infiltrate the town in an earnest, misguided attempt to fight the injustice.

Reprising their performances from the 2016 Atlanta world premiere are Tony winner Beth Leavel, Tony nominees Christopher Sieber and Brooks Ashmanskas, Caitlin Kinnunen, Isabelle McCalla, Angie Schworer, Josh Lamon, and Courtenay Collins. Joining them for the Broadway bow is Michael Potts.
