The New Group celebrated the official opening of Tony winner David Rabe's Good for Otto March 8. Set inside a rural Connecticut mental health center, the play depicts an American community on the edge and looks at how health professionals, patients, and families fight to survive in the face of mental illness.

Scott Elliott directs a cast made up of Rhea Perlman (who replaced the originally announced Rosie O’Donnell), Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham, Kate Buddeke, Laura Esterman, Nancy Giles, Lily Gladstone, Ed Harris, Charlotte Hope, Mark Linn-Baker, Amy Madigan, Rileigh McDonald, Kenny Mellman, Maulik Pancholy, and Michael Rabe.

The Off-Broadway premiere began February 20 in the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at the Signature Center and has been extended through April 8.
