News Reading of Fit for the Queen, With Kathleen Chalfant and Ted Sod, Presented Dec. 13 Noor Theatre's inaugural Highlight series, featuring "quality plays by playwrights of Middle Eastern descent," concludes Dec. 13 at 7:30 PM at The Fourth Street Theatre.

Betty Shamieh's Fit for the Queen: A Tragicomedy, directed by Lisa Peterson, stars Kathleen Chalfant.

The cast also features Demosthenes Chrysan, Lanna Joffrey, Laith Nakli, Michele Rafic, Ariel Shafir, Ted Sod and Rasha Zamamiri.

"Inspired by the life of Hatshepsut, a woman who ruled as pharaoh in ancient Egypt," press notes state, Fit for the Queen "tells the story of how Hatshepsut’s female lover helps her usurp the throne as she finds herself at odds with an unexpectedly ruthless rival for power – her daughter. Don’t miss this play of intrigue, farce and sexual politics."
