Johnson will also direct the play, which begins at 7:30 PM. The cast will feature Katy Shepherd as Nicole, LeShawn Bell as Jake and Mariah Thornton as Samantha with local Fairfield area artists.
The one-act play, according to press notes, "surrounds five friends coming together after graduating college hoping for the summer of their lives. It might be there last time all together before they go out and face the so-called 'Real World.' During the summer they will face unresolved issues from the past and present that will question if their friendship that was developed from Childhood is worth saving now as 'Adults.'"
The Unpredictable Times made its New York City debut in January 2011 with a staged reading at The Directors Company followed by a run at The Manhattan Repertory Theatre.
Producers are Derek Anderson and Two Roads Educational Arts & Theater.
Johnson is dedicating the upcoming performance to the late Roy Miller. The Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts is located at 200 N. Main Street in Fairfield, IA. Admission for the reading is goodwill donations. For more information visit www.theunpredictabletimes.com or www.fairfieldtreat.com.
