Ten-time Tony Award nominee Graciela Daniele, who has worked with LaChiusa on Marie Christine, Hello Again, Bernada Alba and Little Fish, stages the 29-hour private reading that is produced by Daniele and Jacob Porter.

In addition to Pinkins (The Wild Party; Caroline, or Change), Kudisch (See What I Wanna See), Gets (Hello Again), Leung (Godspell) and Ryness (Hair, First Date), the reading features Darius de Haas (Marie Christine, Carousel), Stanley Bahorek (Queen of the Mist), Sydney James Harcourt (The Lion King), Ashley Robinson, Casey Robinson and Hayley Feinstein (Shrek).

The Nine Fathers of Ariel is characterized as "a dance musical which centers on a mother's effort to provide her son with good fathering in the face of a war-obsessed world."

Musical direction is by Mary Mitchell Campbell.

LaChiusa, Fitzhugh and Daniele previously collaborated on Los Otros at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.
