News Reading of Rabin's Queen of Thebes, with Tunie, De Lavallade, Allen, Presented March 23 A reading of Arnold Rabin's new play Queen of Thebes — based on the Oedipus legend — will be presented March 23 at the Paley Center for Media in Manhattan.

Directed by Alfred Preisser, the 7 PM reading boasts actors from the Classical Theatre of Harlem, including Tamara Tunie as Jocasta, Carmen De Lavallade as Grey Veiled Woman, Duane Allen as Oedipus, Juanita Howard as Ida and Zainab Jah as The Sphinx. The 90-minute reading will be followed by a discussion with the playwright, director and actors.

The play, according to press notes, is an "imaginative interpretation of the Oedipus legend, focusing on Queen Jocasta."
