News Rebecca Habel Returns to NYC's Vineyard as Managing Director; Jennifer Garvey-Blackwell Has New Title Off-Broadway's Vineyard Theatre announced the appointment of Rebecca Habel as managing director of the Tony Award-winning non-profit theatre company. Also announced on June 20 was news that Jennifer Garvey-Blackwell will now serve as executive producer in her continuing work with the company.

Habel returns to The Vineyard, having previously served as the company's general manager from 2003 to 2005, managing such Vineyard productions as the world-premiere of Avenue Q, Paula Vogel's The Long Christmas Ride Home, Gina Gionfriddo's After Ashley, Nicky Silver's Beautiful Child, Christopher Shinn's Where Do We Live and the rock musical People Are Wrong. Since 2005, Habel was a general manager for The Roundabout Theatre Company, first at The Laura Pels Theatre, where she opened the company's Black Box Theatre Space, and subsequently as the general manager of the American Airlines Theatre, managing such Broadway productions as The Importance of Being Earnest, Mrs. Warren's Profession and The 39 Steps, among other works.

Garvey-Blackwell, beginning her 15th season with the company, served as the company's executive director/external affairs for several years before becoming the company's executive director in 2004. Some Vineyard productions produced during Garvey-Blackwell's tenure as executive director include The Scottsboro Boys, A Boy and His Soul, Middletown, Picked, Wig Out!, [title of show] and more.

Vineyard's artistic director is Douglas Aibel.
