Sunday on the Rocks, Theresa Rebeck's 1989 drama, will have its West Coast premiere at Company of Angels in L.A., March 28, directed by Cathy Reinking. The play stars Kim Rhodes, Kirsten Nelson, Rebecca O'Brien and Justine Reiss. Rebeck, considered one of America's hottest young playwrights, was recently represented in L.A. with another play, Loose Knit, at the Jewel Box Theatre Center.
Sunday on the Rocks was first performed in Boston. It was later produced by the Longwharf Theatre in New Haven and is a favorite play on the college circuit.
Rebeck, who has also written for television, is now at work on a screenplay, "Cat Woman," for Warner Bros., as well as a play inspired by her paternal grandfather, a butterfly collector who died young.
Other Rebeck plays include A View of the Dome and Spike Heels.
Sunday will play Tuesdays and Wednesdays only (through late May) at Company of Angels, 2106 Hyperion Blvd. in Silverlake. For tickets and information call (323) 883-1717. -- By Willard Manus
