News Recent Sweeney Todd Star to Take Part in Free NYC Reading Judy Blazer, who portrayed the ill-fated Beggar Woman in New York City Opera's recent production of Sweeney Todd, will take part in a free reading of wHormone Aug. 11.

Stan Richardson's play, according to production notes, concerns "a privileged family driven histrionically over the brink of insanity by their own sexual obsessiveness." Ben Rimalower will direct the 8 PM reading at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, and joining Blazer onstage will be Beau Allulli, Cara Greene, Jerry Marcini and Sixteen Wounded's Omar Metwally. Judy Blazer played Caroline Neville in the Tony-winning musical Titanic. Her other Broadway credits include Me and My Girl and A Change in the Heir. Off-Broadway, she played the Nurse in Hello Again, earning a Drama Desk nomination for her performance. She received New Jersey's Best Actress Award for her work in The Miracle Worker, and her other regional credits include My Fair Lady and Peter Pan.

Ensemble Studio Theatre is located in Manhattan at 549 West 52nd Street. The reading of wHormone will be held on the second floor.
