The season will kick off October 10 at Symphony Space with a gala benefit reading of Molière’s Tartuffe, translated by Richard Wilbur, directed by Marc Vietor, and starring Dana Ivey, Bill Camp, and Reg Rogers, along with Christian DeMarais, Gretchen Hall, Naomi Lorrain, Ben Mehl, and Derek Smith, among others.

Performances of the Bard’s political drama Coriolanus, directed by Michael Sexton, will begin October 18 at the Barrow Street Theatre. The show will officially open October 30 for an engagement scheduled to run through November 30.

In the spring, Red Bull will present the New York premiere of Hatcher’s adaptation of The Government Inspector, helmed by artistic director Jesse Berger, and what he describes as a “deeply silly new version.“ The satire will be staged at a theatre to be announced. Casts and design teams for both productions will be also announced at a later date.

The season will feature the return of the company’s Obie-winning Revelation Readings: staged readings of new and rarely performed classic plays. The slate includes The Metromaniacs directed by Michael Kahn, with Christian Conn and Amelia Pedlow; Francis Beaumont’s The Knight of the Burning Pestle, directed by Everett Quinton, featuring Ryan Garbayo; The White Devil directed by Louisa Proske, featuring Matthew Rauch and Tina Benko; The Merry Devil of Edmonton directed by Ben Prusiner, featuring Carson Elrod and Sam Tsoustouvas; The Way of the World by Rebeck, featuring Kristine Nielsen; Lord Byron’s Manfred; the American premiere of a new version of Nikolai Erdman’s The Mandate by Declan Donnellan; and The Country Wife, the world premiere of a new musical version of the restoration comedy, by Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire, directed by Maltby.
