News Red, Hot & Xmas, Featuring Songs from Jersey Boys and Plaid Tidings, Presented Dec. 16 Uptown Express — the pop group born out of the New York City Gay Men's Chorus — celebrates the holiday season with two shows at the Metropolitan Room.

Entitled Red, Hot & Xmas, the Dec. 16 (at 7 PM) and Dec. 20 (at 7:30 PM) shows will feature tunes from Jersey Boys and Plaid Tidings as well as songs immortalized by The Mills Brothers, Peggy Lee and George Michael. Cabaret favorite Klea Blackhurst, best known for her Ethel Merman tribute, will be the special guest both evenings. Uptown Express features Aldrin Arche, Christopher Caswell, John DePalma, Alex Goro and Brad Parks. The group is backed by The Uptown Trio, which features Dan Gross on drums, Ted Stafford on bass and guitar and music director James Followell at the piano.

The Metropolitan Room is located in Manhattan at 34 West 22nd Street. There is a $25 cover charge and a two-drink minimum; call (212) 206-0440 for reservations.
