Red Rooster, the New York City-based acoustic folk and blues band, will play for the benefit of the Vineyard Theatre March 16 at Shine.
Founded in 1998, Red Rooster mixes traditional folk stylings with the blues. Nat Zilkha (lead guitar and Dobro), Jay Erickson (vocals, bass and guitar), Jon Howe (harmonica), Ted Shergalis (fiddle), Keith Porteous (vocals), and Matt Dellinger (vocals) form the group.
The Vineyard Theatre has staged the world premieres of the Pulitzer Prize winners How I Learned to Drive and Three Tall Women. Recent productions include The Dying Gaul and Fully Committed, now in an open-ended run at the Cherry Lane. The theatre is currently host to Nicky Silver's world premiere play, The Altruists, which recently extended through April 8.
Tickets for the 9 PM performance are $10 at the door. Shine is located at 285 West Broadway at Canal Street. The Vineyard Theatre is on the web at http://www.vineyardtheatre.org.
