News Red, White and Tuna Opens at Kennedy Center June 24 The third part of the Tuna trilogy — Red, White and Tuna — begins performances at the Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theatre June 24.

The limited engagement of Tuna will play through July 10. The production co-stars comedians Joe Sears and Jaston Williams, who will bring all 20 of their Tuna, Texas creations to the stage, including Vera Carp, Aunt Pearl, Bertha Bumiller and Didi Snavely. In this latest version of Tuna, according to production notes, "the Smut Snatchers, led by Vera Carp, take on the political correctness church hymns, while Petey Fisk continues his offbeat pleas for a more humane Tuna.  The July heat wave in Tuna is only intensified by the hormonally-charged Tastee Kreme gals, Inita Goodwin and Helen Bedd, who have a food booth at the Reunion serving up Aunt Pearl's prize-winning potato salad, and plenty of attitude. You just can't breathe tomorrow's air until you see who wins Tuna's Reunion Queen Contest!" The Tuna trilogy also includes Greater Tuna and A Tuna Christmas.

The creative team for Red, White and Tuna comprises Kevin Rupnik (scenic design), Linda Fisher (costume design), Root Choyce (lighting design), Ken Huncovsky (sound design).

Red, White and Tuna plays the Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theatre at 2700 F Street. Tickets, priced $20-$55, can be purchased by calling (212) 467-4600. For more information visit www.greatertuna.com or www.kennedy-center.org.
