Long Wharf Theatre artistic director Gordon Edelstein will direct, and adapted the script. Performances will play April 28-May 23. Reeder, who appeared on Broadway in Top Girls and Sight Unseen, will be joined by Mark Nelson (Bridge Project's Winter's Tale, Cherry Orchard) as Krogstad and Tim Hopper (Picasso at the Lapin Agile) as Rank.

According to Long Wharf, "Nora, a vibrant young woman, has surrounded herself with the trappings of the perfect life. She prides herself in three beautiful children, a big comfortable house, and a handsome husband who has a new job at a large investment bank. But the illusion of her success is about to fade as the secret that hold her family together is exposed for all to see. Edelstein's world-premiere adaptation casts Ibsen's ground-breaking, 19th-century drama in a visceral contemporary light."

"This is one of the most famous plays of the past 200 years," Edelstein said about Doll's House, in a statement. "What I'm going to endeavor to do is rid the play of all of its expected baggage … This play has a lot of interesting people behaving in desperate ways. I think it is interesting to explore what drives these people. I am really going to take a look at what is contemporary about the play. This play is a lot funnier than people realize, and a lot sexier. It should be very alive and vivid. This will not be A Doll's House as you've seen it before."
