The 4 PM presentation at the Acorn Theatre on Theatre Row includes Cannavale, Ivey and Modine reading selections from Rabe's work, spanning plays to fiction, according to the New Group. Ivey earned a Tony Award for starring in Rabe's Hurlyburly.
The evening coincides with the New Group's world-premiere production of Rabe's An Early History of Fire, which began previews April 5.
Tony-winning playwright David Rabe's plays include The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel, Sticks and Bones, The Orphan, In the Boom Boom Room, Streamers, Those the River Keeps, A Question of Mercy, The Dog Problem and The Black Monk.
