News Reissue of 1973 Sondheim Poster to Benefit BC/EFA The famed 1973 poster that utilized Scrabble® pieces to spell the names of Stephen Sondheim musicals has been reissued to celebrate the composer's 75th birthday.

Kurt Peterson's company, James William Productions, has issued a limited edition of the poster, which had been designed for the first celebration of Sondheim's works, the 1973 Sondheim: A Musical Tribute. That concert was presented March 11, 1973, at the Shubert Theatre and featured 41 songs performed by 38 singers. The famed Scrabble/Sondheim poster was designed by Neil Appelbaum and distributed to the cast of the 1973 concert. The reissue marks the first time the poster has been available to the general public.

The Sondheim: A Musical Tribute poster is available through Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS by visiting www.bcefa.org. The Triton Gallery is also selling the Appelbaum work; call (800) 626-6674 or visit www.broadwayposters.com. Those attending the March 19 Wall to Wall Stephen Sondheim concert will also be able to purchase the poster at Symphony Space.
