LOS ANGELES--The Relentless Theatre Company will present Naomi Iizuka's Skin, a transplanted and updated adaptation of Georg Buchner's enduring Woyzeck, at the Los Angeles Playhouse beginning Friday, June 12.
Skin is set in present-day Los Angeles and tells the story of Jones, a man struggling to find his place in the hostile society of the misunderstood. In an attempt to regain his dignity, he is driven to extreme measures.
The cast includes Oscar Arguello, Vincent Castellonos, Melody Doyle, Alex Fernandez, Wendy Johnson, Ajgie Kirkland, Tom Lenoci, Rachel Malkenhorst, Andrea Portes, Brent Roam, Michael Tierney and Cliff Weissman.
The presentation, a Global Stratagem Production in cooperation with the Open Fist Theatre Company, is directed by Olivia Honegger.
The Los Angeles Playhouse is located at 1625 1/2 North La Brea Ave. The regular run is 8 PM Thursday through Saturday, and 7 PM Sunday, from June 12 through July 18. Tickets are $15. For reservations, call (310) 289-2287.
