News Remember the Time: The Music of Michael Jackson to Play the Ars Nova Remember the Time: The Music of Michael Jackson will be presented Aug. 10 at the Ars Nova on West 54th Street.

The 8 PM concert, which had been in the works for several months, will feature music direction/arrangements by Jesse Vargas (bare, Glory Days, Rooms). Show time is 8 PM.

Performers will be announced shortly.

In a statement Vargas said, "I have been wanting to gather a group of my favorite performers together to celebrate this songbook for sometime. Like many of us, I grew up to the music of Michael Jackson and have been influenced as a musician and artist by his contributions to popular music. I was lucky enough to team up with Ars Nova this summer and create this event. Although the loss of him is still very fresh and very sad, I can not think of a better way to celebrate his life and contributions than through song. I hope I can help to bring a memorable evening to the theater community and beyond."

"Broadway's most talented performers come together to celebrate the iconic songbook of one of the most celebrated artists of our time," according to press notes. "Broadway's Jesse Vargas guides us on a tour of the many stages of Michael: from Motown's Jackson 5 to the group's disco and dance turn, and, finally, to platinum pop stardom. Join us for a rocking evening of some of the most popular songs of the past fifty years, performed by Broadway favorites and backed by a thumping band."

Tickets are $20 general admission and can be purchased at www.arsnovanyc.com.
