Classic Arts News Ren_e Fleming's Haunted Heart Debuts on Billboard Crossover Chart Soprano Ren_e Fleming's Haunted Heart made its first appearance on the Billboard classical crossover chart this week at number five.
The album, recorded with guitarist Bill Frisell and pianist Fred Hersch, includes pop songs and jazz standards well as a selection from Mahler's R‹ckert Lieder, transcribed for guitar by Frisell.

The pop-classical quartet Il Divo reclaimed the top spot on the crossover chart, a week after it was dethroned by the soundtrack album for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Other movers on the chart included Nigel Hess's soundtrack album for Ladies in Lavender, featuring violinist Joshua Bell, which jumped from number 16 to number 13 in its second week.

Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble's Silk Road Journeys: Beyond the Horizon remained at number one on the classical chart. New to the chart were the early music group Europa Galante's recording of Vivaldi's opera Bajazet at number 13, and Mikhail Pletnev's Tchaikovsky: 18 Pieces for Solo Piano, which debuted at number 23.
