Classic Arts News Ren_e Fleming's Sacred Songs TV Special Issued on DVD Soprano Ren_e Fleming's November 2005 concert at Germany's Mainz Cathedral was released on DVD by Universal/Decca yesterday.
The concert, which was broadcast on PBS late last year, featured music from Fleming's bestselling Sacred Songs CD. Tracks on the DVD include "Rejoice Greatly" from Handel's Messiah, "L'Adieu des Bergers" from Berlioz's L'Enfance du Christ, "Laudamus te" from Mozart's Mass in C minor, Schubert's "Ave Maria," "Simple Song" from Leonard Bernstein's Mass, and other arias and Christmas songs.

Fleming is accompanied by the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the Mainz Cathedral Choir, conducted by Trevor Pinnock.

According to Universal, the concert will be broadcast on PBS again this holiday season.
