Directed by Mark Rucker, the production, which will open Yale Rep’s 2013-14 season, will play Sept. 20-Oct. 12 at the University Theatre (222 York Street).

Additional casting will be announced at a later time.

"In the steamy French Quarter of New Orleans, an electrifying battle of wills ignites between Southern belle Blanche DuBois and her working class brother-in-law Stanley Kowalski," according to press notes. "Nerves fraying and beauty fading, Blanche is both repelled and intrigued by Stanley’s primal brutishness—even as he threatens to reveal her darkest secrets and destroy her illusions."

The upcoming season will also feature Caryl Churchill's Owners, directed by Evan Yionoulis (Oct. 25-Nov. 16), Dario Fo's Accidental Death of an Anarchist, adapted by Gavin Richards from a translation by Gillian Hanna and directed by Christopher Bayes (Nov. 30-Dec. 21), Meg Miroshnik's The Fairytale Lives Of Russian Girls, directed by Kate Whoriskey (Jan. 31-Feb. 22, 2014), the world premiere of Rolin Jones' These Paper Bullets, adapted from William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing with songs by Billie Joe Armstrong and direction by Jackson Gay (March 14-April 5, 2014) and the world premiere of Marcus Gardley's The House That Will Not Stand, directed by Patricia McGregor (April 18-May 10, 2014).
