Alan Cumming, who said last year he would star in the title role of a Garry Hines-helmed Broadway revival of Synge's Irish classic, The Playboy of the Western World, may still be linked to the project, even though he is reportedly living in another world -- the world of fashion. This according to the Daily News, which reports that the former star of Roundabout's Cabaret was seen sitting next to Marie Claire editor Glenda Bailey in Paris recently, while taking front-row notes at several fashion shows. The purpose? The sartorial adventurer was covering Versace, Gautier, Givenchy, Valentino, Ungaro, Dior, Chanel and LaCroix fashions for Marie Claire. His work could be on the stands by this spring.

Cumming won a Tony for his performance in the Roundabout Theatre Company revival of Cabaret. He gave his last performance in the role on June. 6, 1999.
