Ever since London producer Bill Kenwright announced plans for a West End production of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, rumors have been rife as to who would play the two leads. The latest name being bandied about is film star Brendan Fraser. According to Variety, the "George of the Jungle" actor is in talks to play the role of haunted alcoholic, Brick. Other names being floated are Ashley Judd, and husband and wife Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise. A spokesman for the show, however, denied that the latter two were involved. Kidman performed in another West End production of Kenwright, The Blue Room, to great success.

Anthony Page is set to direct Cat. According to Variety, however, he is becoming impatient with the casting process and may move on.

Fraser's other films include "Encino Man," "The Mummy" and "School Ties."
