According to Variety (Jan. 12), Mary McCormack, best known for portraying Howard Stern's wife in the Stern biopic "Private Parts," will replace Jennifer Jason Leigh as Sally Bowles in the Roundabout's Tony-winning revival of Cabaret on Broadway.
Leigh, who replaced Natasha Richardson, leaves the role in February. McCormack will begin rehearsals then, start performances in early March through May 2, opposite Tony-winning "Emcee" Alan Cumming.
McCormack's credits include a memorable season in the television drama "Murder One" and last summer's first asteroid flick, "Deep Impact."
Cumming is slated to stay with Cabaret until March 1999; after that no replacement Emcee has been announced.
