News Reprise! Announces 2004-2005 Concert Season; Includes Schwartz's Pippin Reprise! has announced its eighth season of Broadway musicals in concert at UCLA’s Freud Playhouse.

Lerner and Loewe's classic 1947 musical Brigadoon will begin the season, playing Aug. 17-29 with an official press opening scheduled for Aug. 18. Stuart Ross will direct and Lee Martino will choreograph the production, which includes such tunes as "Almost Like Being in Love," "Heather on the Hill" and "Come to Me, Bend to Me." Stephen Schwartz, who is currently enjoying success on Broadway with the hit new musical Wicked, will be represented during the Reprise! series by his 1972 musical Pippin. The musical, which won five Tony Awards during its original run, will be presented Jan. 25-Feb. 6, 2005. Opening night is scheduled for Jan. 26. Gordon Hunt, who helmed the Hollywood Bowl presentations of My Fair Lady and The Music Man, will direct with choreography by Dan Mojica.

The final concert production of the season will be the 1970 Tony-winning Best Musical Applause, playing May 10-22 with a May 11 opening night. The Betty Comden-Adolph Green-Charles Strouse-Lee Adams musical, based on the classic film "All About Eve," will feature direction by David Lee. Applause includes such songs as "Welcome to the Theatre," "Halloween," "But Alive" and the title tune.

Reprise! Broadway’s Best began with a concert version of Promises, Promises starring Jason Alexander, Alan Thicke and Jean Smart. Since that time more than 20 musicals have been presented at the UCLA Freud Playhouse, which is located within Macgowan Hall.
