News Revival of David Hare's The Vertical Hour to Play London's Park Theatre; Casting Announced A new production of David Hare's The Vertical Hour, which premiered on Broadway in 2007 and was subsequently seen at London's Royal Court in 2008, is to be staged at London's Park Theatre, beginning performances Sept. 23 prior to an official opening Sept. 25, for a run through Oct. 26.

Nigel Douglas will direct a cast that features Peter Davison and Thusitha Jayasundera.

The production will be designed by Charlie Damigos, with lighting by Julian McCready and sound by Harry Barker. It is presented by Oliver Taheri Productions in association with Mini Productions Ltd and Park Theatre.

In the play, "Nadia Blye (Jayasundera) knows exactly what her stance is on Iraq.  A former war reporter and Professor of International Relations at Yale, she has advised the President and seen action in Sarajevo and Baghdad.  She is sure of her place in the world and her opinion of it. Until, that is, she meets Oliver (Davison), an equally opinionated and lethally charming man – her boyfriend’s father – over a weekend in Shropshire.  His intervention has far-reaching consequences for them all."

Davison, probably best known for playing the fifth incarnation of The Doctor in TV's "Doctor Who" and Tristan Farnon in "All Creatures Great and Small," has been seen in the West End in Legally Blonde - the Musical, Spamalot, Under the Doctor, Chicago, An Absolute Turkey and The Last Yankee.

Jayasundera's theatre credits include Tiger Country (Hampstead Theatre), A Day at the Racists (Finborough Theatre), Crime and Punishment, Warhorse and The Caucasian Chalk Circle (all at the National Theatre), and The Comedy of Errors, Cain, Peer Gynt and Pentecost (all RSC).  To book tickets, contact the box office on 020 7870 6876 or visit www.parktheatre.co.uk.
