News Revival of John Patrick Shanley Play Begins Tonight at the Flea Off-Broadway's Attic Theater Company stages John Patrick Shanley's The Dreamer Examines His Pillow at the Flea Theater, beginning July 25. It is the second revival of the play since its premiere in 1986.

Directed by Laura Braza, the cast features Broadway vet Dennis Parlato in the role of the menacing but comedic father. Parlato's numerous credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Sound of Music and A Chorus Line. An official opening night is set for July 30.

The cast also features Lauren Nicole Cipoletti (Macbeth at CSC) and Shane Patrick Kearns ("Peter and John").

Shanley's The Dreamer Examines His Pillow explores the relationship between on-again, off-again lovers Donna and Tommy and their attempts at finding their way through a maze of love, lust, family and art.

Writer and director Shanley is the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Best Play for Doubt as well as an Oscar-winning screenwriter for Moonstruck. He also penned the screenplay to the film adaptation of Doubt, starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Playbill.com recently announced the world premiere of his latest work, Prodigal Son, at MTC Theatre Off-Broadway in January 2016.
