LOS ANGELES -- Rhea Perlman, Harriet Harris and Peter Michael Goetz star in Alfred Uhry's Tony Award-winning The Last Night of Ballyhoo , opening Oct. 11 (after starting previews Oct. 2) at the Canon Theatre in Beverly Hills.
Ballyhoo is directed by Ron Lagomarsino, who staged the show on Broadway. The cast also includes Rebecca Gayheart, Ryan Hurst, Mark Kassen and Perrey Reeves.
Designing the show are John Lee Beatty (set), Jane Greenwood (costumes), Kenneth Posner & Jeff Croiter (lighting).
Actress Perlman is best known for playing Carla on TV's "Cheers." Harris appeared Off-Broadway in Bella, Belle of Byelorussia and The Innocents' Crusade, both in 1992.
Other Uhry works include Driving Miss Daisy and the libretto for the upcoming musical, Parade.
The Last Night of Ballyhoo plays through Jan. 3, 1999 at the Canon, 205 N. Canon Drive. Performances run Tues.-Fri. 8 PM; Sat. 4 & 8 PM; Sun. 3 & 7 PM. Tickets are $32.50-$42.50. Call (310) 859-2830.
