"I want to do something else," Dreyfuss told BBC's Radio Times magazine. "I'll only live once and I'm 10 years out of the hospital or retirement home. I'm not seeking to do any more movies, and they're not seeking me. I'm quite happy with that situation." Dreyfuss is currently in London rehearsing the role of Max for the UK premiere of The Producers.

"I can grow indifferent very quickly," he added. "I've lost the habit. I love theatre. There's a point at which you can walk across the stage and feel the audience. When you make them laugh, you go to heaven. It's a gift."

Dreyfuss recently finished a Broadway run in the comedy Sly Fox. Other recent roles include The Exonerated Off-Broadway and All My Sons at the Westport Country Playhouse.
