News Richard III Haunts West End Theatre Beginning Oct. 2 Anatol Yusef stars in the title role of Shakespeare's Richard III for the Frog and Peach Theatre Company, which begins performances Oct. 2 at the West End Theatre.

Lynnea Benson directs the production that will play a limited engagement through Oct. 26 at Off-Broadway venue.

"This is Richard III like you've never seen him, in a country not unlike our own — ruled by greed and hypocrisy; a country ripped to pieces by grudges, lies, and war — a world especially vulnerable to this man, Shakespeare's smooth-talking masterpiece of evil, who was, some say, born with a full set of teeth. Whether that's true or not, the terror, mayhem, and butchery this marvelous cast delivers are not for the faint of heart," production notes state.

Yusef, who was previously seen in the Royal National Theatre production of King Lear, leads a cast that also includes Tallulah Ormsby Gore, Topher Mikels, Viven Landau, Michael R. Piazza, William Laney, Amy Frances Quint, Moti Margolin, Oliver Conant, Lance Stern, Karen Culp, Gregg Lauterbach, Frank Martinelli, Rand Guerrero, Andrew Smereck, Nick de Vita and Karen Lynn Gorney.

Creative duties are handled by Ian Marshall (fight direction), Jak Prince (lighting design), Kevin Allen (set design) and Bengal (costumes).

Tickets for Richard III are available by phoning (212) 868-4444 or by visiting Smarttix.com. The West End Theatre is located at 263 West 86th Street in Manhattan.
