News Richard Kind Joins Cast of Showtime Series The stage and screen veteran will be seen in the hour-long comedy I'm Dying Up Here.

Tony Award nomineee Richard Kind, whose Broadway credits include The Big Knife, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Sly Fox, The Producers and The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, will have a recurring role in the new Showtime series I'm Dying Up Here, according to Deadline.com.

Kind has been cast in the role of a television executive named Marty Dansak.

This series, executive-produced by Jim Carrey, will also feature Jeffrey Nordling, Obba Babatundé, Melissa Leo, Ari Graynor, Andrew Santino, RJ Cyler, Al Madrigal, Erik Griffin, Stephen Guarino, Michael Angarano and Clark Duke with guest stars Alfred Molina, Sebastian Stan, Robert Forster, Jon Daly, Dylan Baker, Brianne Howey, Ginger Gonzaga and Cathy Moriarty.

I'm Dying Up Here, according to the industry website, “follows up-and-coming comedians in Los Angeles in the 1970s, who are mentored by ’Goldie’ (Melissa Leo), a brassy comedy club owner who rules over her business with an iron fist and nurtures her comedians with tough love.”
